Drake says Kendrick Lamar can’t even come close to him

Drake already got attention for starting his concert walking out to “My Savages.” For those who are unaware, Kendrick Lamar subliminally dissed Drake and J. Cole on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That.” As a result, fans have been waiting for Drake to respond. However, they were reminded of how strategic Kanye West said Drake can be. After the Future walkout, Drake had his own subliminal message for Kendrick Lamar.

Drake has a history with Kendrick Lamar, as he was one of the first big names to work with him, outside of the West Coast. In addition, Drizzy gave him a subliminal shout out on DJ Khaled’s “For Free,” back in 2016. However, Kendrick forever changed the dynamics of rappers from that era, when he called most of them out on “Control.” Nearly eleven years later and there are rappers still shook from that situation. In addition, Kendrick has done it again with “Like That.”

Drake paused his concert to address this situation with Kendrick Lamar. Since Kendrick never called anyone out by name, Drake is following his precedent. However, he did make sure to address the situation of anyone trying to diss him. Over the past fifteen years, Drake has consistently made hit records. Also, he’s been willing to share the spotlight with unknown talent. So, he went on a rant, saying none of these other guys can even come close to what he’s been doing.
