Kodak Black Pleads Guilty In Miami Weapons Case
Just as we reported was likely to happen earlier this week, Kodak Black pleaded guilty on Thursday in his federal weapons case.

Kodak was charged with—among other things—falsifying information on federal forms in connection with the purchase of three firearms back in May, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Later that same month, the rapper was said by a U.S. District Court judge to be a “danger to the community’ and was thus ordered to be detained until trial.

He remains in custody now.

Initially, the Florida native said he was innocent, though he entered the aforementioned guilty plea during a hearing in Miami court this Thursday. Prosecutors believe that one of the guns found on the scene of a March shooting in Pompano Beach, was purchased by Kodak with the applications in question. CBS Miami reports that his sentencing is set for November 13.

Later, in July, Kodak’s team suggested that racial profiling played a part in Kodak’s arrest, with attorney Bradford Cohen telling TMZ that police initially looked into his client’s records without even having a warrant. On top of that, Cohen claims an undercover detective was in the store the same day as Kodak’s attempted firearms purchase.

The arrest went down at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on May 11, just before Kodak was set to perform at Rolling Loud that weekend. The max penalty for the making a false statement in connection with the acquisition or attempted acquisition of a firearm charge is 10 years in prison with three years of supervised release, though prosecutors have said they’ll push for a lighter sentence than the maximum based on Kodak’s cooperation so far throughout the case.

This case’s central claim is that Kodak wasn’t truthful when answering ATF form 4473. For example, he reportedly answered “no” when asked if he was under indictment, despite being under indictment in South Carolina for first degree criminal sexual conduct at the same time.

#BossipMukbang: First Fights
We’re back with another storytime video over deliciously salty and sweet snacks. As you know BOSSIP’s Mukbang series is infused with messy stories all mashed up with delicious food. Mukbangs are all over the internet. Folks sit at a table, in front of a camera, and eat the biggest, most over-the-top, messy, juicy, delicious foods you can imagine and share stories. So you kind of get the idea, right? This season, we are focused on relationship anecdotes from relatable folks over juicy meals.

In this episode, Kennie reminisces to Jasmine on school days and food fights with a meal straight outta your 1998 Ninja Turtle Lunch box. Kennie tells her girl how she almost lost her sh*t after seeing her ex-bestie’s name pop up on her college boyfriend’s phone screen. SMH.

As the ladies chow down and Kennie tells her ‘first fight’ story, we snuck a rocky surprise inside of their meal. Hopefully, the crackling surprise in their food helps Kennie and Jasmine realize that first fights can rock the boat, but they don’t have to sink your relationship.

Scroll up and hit play to hear how Kennie navigated her first fight with her college boyfriend after he was caught texting her bestie!

Terry & Rebecca Crews Get Real About Their Marriage Almost Falling Apart
Black Love is upon us, as Tommy and Codie Oliver bring fans a third season of their critically-acclaimed docu-series. With celebrity couples like LeToya Luckett and Tommicus Walker, as well as Kandi and Todd Tucker getting real about the joys and pitfalls of marriage, season 3 is intriguing AND jam-packed with life lessons about melanated love. On the next episode, Terry and Rebecca Crews talk about how their marriage almost went bad. Both claim a little bit of the responsibility…

“When we got married, I had this grand thing of, you know, this is all gonna work out, this is how love is,” Terry says of his own habits. “Then, all of a sudden, she would say something I didn’t like… I was like ‘Ok you’re messing up the picture.’ Anytime I felt sad, I would just buy something and she was like… ‘How are we gonna pay for this?’ and I was like ‘You know what? I’m going pro, it’s all gonna work, and I had this thing about, just, everything’s gonna work out. As long as I can get rid of the pain now and we’ll just pay later.” “I realize I should’ve done more homework on addiction and children of addiction,” Rebecca chimes in.

Whew! Watch the full clip up top. In an exclusive interview with BOSSIP, the show’s creators the Olivers previously revealed why this series means so much.

“If you see it, you can be it and too often Black people are portrayed as anything but happy, loving mothers and fathers and husbands and wives. So, we can begin to believe the messages we see in the media about who we are. Black Love was our way of offering a different, more positive perspective in the media. We simply wanted to show Black people finding love, whenever and wherever they find it,” they told us.

Tune in this Saturday, August 24 at 9 p.m. ET on OWN. THIS is the kind of content we crave!
